Biography
Keala Settle is an American actress and singer. Born on 5 November 1975 in Laie, Hawaii, she is a graduate of Kahuku High School and an alumna of Southern Utah University. She began her career in national tours including Hairspray and South Pacific before making her Broadway debut in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert (2011).
Settle originated the role of Norma Valverde in Hands on a Hardbody (2013), earning nominations for the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She was in the original Broadway cast of Waitress (2016) as Becky. In film she played Lettie Lutz in The Greatest Showman (2017), performing the song "This Is Me", which won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and received an Academy Award nomination. She appears as Miss Coddle in Wicked (2024) and Wicked: For Good (2025).
