Biography
Kelly Lai Chen (Chinese: 雷震; also credited as Kelly Lai and Lai Chen) was a Hong Kong actor born in Shanghai on 3 September 1933. He died in Hong Kong on 3 April 2018.
He trained at the actor school of Motion Picture & General Investment (later Cathay) and made his film debut in 1956. He appeared in more than 40 films during the 1950s and 1960s, often portraying sensitive young men, and co-founded the Gold Eagle Film Company with his sister, actress Betty Loh Ti. He retired from acting in 1971.
Lai returned to the screen in later decades, appearing in Young and Dangerous 2 (1996) and as Mr. Ho in Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love (2000).
