Biography
Kema Sikazwe is an actor and musician who performs as Kema Kay. He played the role of China in the 2016 film I, Daniel Blake directed by Ken Loach.
Born in Zambia, Sikazwe moved to the West End of Newcastle at the age of three. He developed a passion for rap, singing and songwriting at a local youth project during his teenage years. He later wrote and performed the autobiographical one-man show Shine at Live Theatre in Newcastle, which toured including to Edinburgh.
His other screen credits include Lady Macbeth (2016), in which he appeared as a farmhand credited as Kema Slkazwe, and The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe (2022) as a police TV interviewee. He has also worked as an associate artist at Live Theatre and delivers songwriting workshops.
