Biography
Kenji Sawada, also credited as Julie, is a Japanese singer, songwriter and actor. Born on 25 June 1948 in Tottori Prefecture, he rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the rock band The Tigers during the late 1960s group sounds era.
Sawada has appeared in numerous films, including as Osamu in Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters (1985), Makoto Kido in The Man Who Stole the Sun (1979), Shiro Amakusa in Samurai Reincarnation (1981), Hieda Reijirou in Hiruko the Goblin (1991) and Masao Katakuri in The Happiness of the Katakuris (2002). He has been married to actress Yūko Tanaka since 1989.
