Biography

Kenneth Waller (5 November 1927 – 28 January 2000) was an English television and film actor. Born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, he served in the Royal Air Force during National Service and worked as a wages clerk before training in repertory theatre at the Oxford Playhouse and making his West End debut in the 1957 musical Free as Air.

He appeared in numerous British television series from the 1960s onwards, including Doctor Who, All Creatures Great and Small and Coronation Street. Waller is best known for playing Old Mr. Henry Grace in the eighth series of Are You Being Served? (1981) and Grandad in the sitcom Bread (1986–1991). His film credits include small roles in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968), Scrooge (1970), Fiddler on the Roof (1971) and Carry On Behind (1975).
