Biography
Yee Chung-man, also credited as Kenneth Yee or Chung-Man Yee, is a Hong Kong production designer, art director, costume designer and film director. Born in Hong Kong on 24 November 1951, he trained in design at Hong Kong Polytechnic and later at Parsons School of Design in New York. He began working in advertising and interior design before entering the film industry in 1982 as art director and costume designer on Once Upon a Rainbow.
Yee has contributed to numerous Hong Kong and Chinese productions, including art direction on A Chinese Ghost Story (1987) and Once Upon a Time in China (1991), production design on City Hunter (1993) and The Warlords (2007), and costume design on Curse of the Golden Flower (2006), for which he received an Academy Award nomination and won Best Costume and Make-up Design at the Hong Kong Film Awards. He also served as producer and costume designer on Monster Hunt (2015). Yee has directed three features: Anna Magdalena (1998), And I Hate You So (2000) and Ocean Heaven (2010).
