Biography

Kent Beyda is an American film editor. Born on 11 October 1953 in Bethesda, Maryland, he began his career as an assistant editor on films including Opening Night (1977) and Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979). He received his first editing credit on Saturday the 14th (1981).

Beyda edited the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap (1984) and later worked on Fright Night (1985), Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990), The Flintstones (1994), Scooby-Doo (2002) and its sequel, and The Angry Birds Movie (2016). He has edited several films directed by or starring Billy Crystal, including Mr. Saturday Night (1992), Forget Paris (1995) and Here Today (2021). He is a member of the American Cinema Editors and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
