Biography
Kent Butterworth is an American animation director. He was born on 20 January 1953 in Gilbert, Arizona. He began working in animation in the late 1970s as an inbetweener at Hanna-Barbera and later animated and directed at Filmation. He also served as an overseas animation supervisor in Korea and Japan.
Butterworth directed two episodes of the first season of The Simpsons (1990), "There's No Disgrace Like Home" and "Some Enchanted Evening". He directed episodes of Batman: The Animated Series (1992), Tiny Toon Adventures (1990–1992) and all 66 episodes of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993). He has also worked as a timing director and storyboard artist on series including The Ren & Stimpy Show and Rugrats.
In 2007 he wrote, directed and produced the animated feature Attila and the Great Blue Bean. He later worked as a producer heading the CGI department at Fox Family Worldwide and has provided animation timing for several DC Universe animated films.
