Biography
Kettly Noël (also credited as Kettly Noel) is a Haitian actress, dancer and choreographer. Born in 1966 in Port-au-Prince, she moved to Paris in the early 1990s, where she worked in theatre, film and dance before settling primarily in Mali.
She is known for her film roles as the Somalian Woman in Total Eclipse (1995) and as Zabou in Timbuktu (2014). Noël has also appeared in smaller parts, including in the television series Seconde B (1993) and the short film Le Solitaire (1995).
As a choreographer she created works including Nanlakou (1995) and Tichèlbe (2002), the latter winning prizes at the Rencontres chorégraphiques d’Afrique et d’océan Indien and RFI Danse. She founded the Donko Senko dance studio and the Dense Bamako Danse festival in Mali, and the Port-au-Prince Art Performance festival in Haiti.
