Biography
Kevin Shields is an Irish musician, singer, songwriter and record producer, best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist and primary songwriter of the alternative rock band My Bloody Valentine. Born on 21 May 1963 in New York City to Irish parents, he moved with his family to Dublin at the age of ten.
Shields composed four original pieces for the soundtrack of Sofia Coppola's 2003 film Lost in Translation, which earned him BAFTA and IFTA nominations for Best Film Music. He has a minor acting credit as a band member in the 2002 film The Magdalene Sisters and has worked extensively as a producer and collaborator with artists including Primal Scream and Patti Smith. My Bloody Valentine reunited in 2007 and released the album m b v in 2013.
