Biography

Kevyn Major Howard (1956–2025) was a Canadian actor best known for playing Private First Class Rafterman, a combat photographer, in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987). Born in Montreal, Quebec, he moved to Los Angeles in the late 1970s and began his screen career with a role in the film Serial (1980) and a guest appearance on the television series Trapper John, M.D..

Howard appeared in supporting parts in films including Death Wish II (1982) as Stomper, Sudden Impact (1983) as Hawkins, Scarface (1983) as an uncredited extra, and Alien Nation (1988) as Rudyard Kipling. His television credits include episodes of The A-Team (1983), MacGyver (1985), Magnum, P.I. (1987) and Miami Vice (1988). After retiring from acting around 1999, he worked as a headshot photographer and founded the nonprofit organisation Fueled by the Fallen, which creates memorial vehicles for fallen service members and first responders.
