Biography
Khaled Mouzanar is a Lebanese composer, songwriter, writer and film producer. Born on 27 September 1974, he studied under Armenian-Lebanese composer Boghos Gelalian. In 2000 he co-founded the Mooz Records label, which produced much of Beirut’s underground music scene.
Mouzanar has composed scores for several films directed by Nadine Labaki, to whom he has been married since 2007. These include Caramel (2007), Where Do We Go Now? (2011) and Capernaum (2018). On the latter he also served as co-writer and producer. He composed the segment score and co-wrote the segment “O Milagre” for Rio, I Love You (2014), and scored Perfect Strangers (2022).
For his work on Capernaum, Mouzanar received a BAFTA nomination for Best Film Music. He has won awards including the Crystal Pine Award for Best Original Score at the International Sound & Film Music Festival.
