Biography
Kieran Fitzgerald is an American writer, producer and director. He wrote the screenplay for The Homesman (2014) with Tommy Lee Jones and Wesley Oliver, and co-wrote Snowden (2016) with Oliver Stone. He has written episodes of the series Wormwood (2017) and Fallout (2024), on which he also serves as co-executive producer.
Fitzgerald holds a BA in English from Harvard University and an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied fiction and screenwriting. He wrote and directed the documentary The Ballad of Esequiel Hernández (2007), which aired on PBS and received an Emmy nomination. He is the son of film producer Michael Fitzgerald and brother of producer Brendan Fitzgerald, and is based in Austin, Texas.
