Biography
Kinzō Sakura is a Japanese actor and comedian. Born on 29 December 1956 in Hiroshima, he began his career in the mid-1970s as a comedian on variety programmes and as a member of comedy groups including The Handers.
He is known for supporting roles in Jūzō Itami’s films, playing Shohei in Tampopo (1985) and Kaneko in A Taxing Woman (1987) and A Taxing Woman’s Return (1988). Other film credits include Mr. Baseball (1992) as Umpire #1 and Madadayo (1993) as a policeman. He has also appeared in numerous television series and later worked as a teller of ghost stories.
