Biography
Kirsten Sheridan is an Irish film director and screenwriter. Born in Dublin in 1976, she is the daughter of director Jim Sheridan. She appeared as Sharon in her father's film My Left Foot: The Story of Christy Brown (1989).
Sheridan studied script writing at New York University and film production at University College Dublin, graduating from Dun Laoghaire College of Art and Design in 1998. She directed the features Disco Pigs (2001) and August Rush (2007). She co-wrote In America (2003) with her father and sister Naomi Sheridan, receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
