Biography
Kohta Yamamoto (also credited as Kota Yamamoto or KOHTA YAMAMOTO; born 1987) is a Japanese composer, arranger and lyricist. He trained at Shobi Music College and began working as a composer and arranger in 2015, initially writing songs for artists before moving into anime and other media soundtracks.
He is best known for his work on anime series including Attack on Titan (2013), where he composed much of the score for The Final Season (2020–2023) in collaboration with Hiroyuki Sawano. Other notable credits include The Seven Deadly Sins (2014), Blue Exorcist (2011), 86 EIGHTY-SIX (2021) and Chained Soldier (2024).
Yamamoto and Sawano won the Crunchyroll Anime Award for Best Score for their work on Attack on Titan: The Final Season and received recognition at the Anime Trending Awards for 86.
