Biography
Kōichi Kitamura was a Japanese voice actor. Born Hajimu Kimura in Osaka on 18 December 1931, he worked under the stage name Kōichi Kitamura and was represented by Mausu Promotion from the late 1950s until his death.
He voiced characters in numerous anime films and series. His credits include Priestess Miyako and Council A in the 1988 film Akira, Professor Clover in One Piece (1999), General Wolf in Monster (2004), and roles in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (2002) and Barefoot Gen (1983). He was also known for dubbing English-language films, particularly roles played by Peter Cushing.
Kitamura died of pneumonia on 2 October 2007 in Shinjuku, Tokyo, aged 75.
