Biography
Kōnosuke Uda is a Japanese anime director. He was born on 1 February 1966 in Shizuoka Prefecture and graduated from the Animation Department of Tokyo Design Academy. He began working as a freelancer at Toei Animation and has directed numerous television series and films.
Uda served as series director for One Piece (1999–2006, episodes 1–278) and directed the feature films One Piece: Dead End Adventure (2003) and One Piece: The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle (2006). Other credits as director or series director include Lovely Complex (2007), Ginga e Kickoff!! (2012–2013), DAYS (2016, also series composition), Hinomaru Sumo (2018–2019, also series composition) and Ranma ½ (2024, also sound director). He has also worked as an episode director on series including Attack on Titan The Final Season and Banana Fish (2018). He is primarily affiliated with MAPPA.
