Biography
Kotoe Hatsui was a Japanese actress and voice actress. She was born on 8 January 1929 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, and died on 21 September 1990. She appeared in numerous live-action films from the 1960s onwards and provided voices for animation.
Hatsui graduated from Aoba Jissen Girls' High School and the Academy of Performing Arts. She was formerly a member of the Seinenza theatre company. She is known for her voice role as Dola in Castle in the Sky (1986), as well as live-action parts including Tsune in Pigs and Battleships (1961) and Tsuyuko in Story of a Prostitute (1965).
She was married to actor Fubito Yamano from 1970 until her death.
