Biography
Ksenia Sereda (Russian: Ксения Середа) is a Russian cinematographer born on 24 August 1994 in Moscow. She graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) and began working professionally in the mid-2010s.
Sereda is known for her work as director of photography on Kantemir Balagov's Beanpole (2019), for which she received the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Achievement in Cinematography. She has also shot Chernobyl: Abyss (2021), The Crowded Room (2023) and Rob Peace (2024).
For the HBO series The Last of Us (2023–present), Sereda served as cinematographer on the first, second and seventh episodes of the first season and returned as lead director of photography for the second season, working on multiple episodes and developing custom lenses for the production.
