Biography
Kurt Smeaton is a Canadian television writer and producer. He began his career as an actor, appearing as a regular cast member in the sketch comedy series The Holmes Show, before moving into writing and producing.
Smeaton has written episodes of Schitt's Creek (2015) and Kim's Convenience (2016), and served as co-executive producer on both series. He created, wrote and executive produced the comedy Children Ruin Everything (2022).
His work on Schitt's Creek earned him a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series in 2020, as well as recognition from the Producers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of Canada.
