Biography
Kurt Wimmer is an American screenwriter, film producer and director. He was born on 9 March 1964 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and graduated with a BFA in Art History from the University of South Florida before moving to Los Angeles.
Wimmer began his career writing for films in the action and thriller genres. His credits include The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), Equilibrium (2002), which he also directed, The Recruit (2003), Law Abiding Citizen (2009), Salt (2010), Point Break (2015), Expend4bles (2023) and The Beekeeper (2024), on which he is credited as both writer and producer. He has also directed Ultraviolet (2006) and Children of the Corn (2020).
