Biography
Laia Ateca is an Andorran production designer and art director. Born in 1985, she trained in cinema and has worked extensively in film, television and music videos.
She is known for her production design on Sirāt (2025), They Will Be Dust (2024), Sister Death (2023), Manticore (2022) and The Grandmother (2022). Earlier credits include art direction on Anna (2013) and assistant roles on Blancanieves (2012). She has also contributed to series such as Vida perfecta (2019–2021) and music videos for artists including Rosalía.
For Sirāt, directed by Oliver Laxe, Ateca received the European Production Designer Award in 2026 and the Goya Award for Best Art Direction in 2026.
