Biography
Lakshmi Sundaram is an American screenwriter, director and producer. She studied writing at Columbia University and received an MFA in Film from Columbia University's School of the Arts.
Her first writing credit was co-writing the episode "Tech" of the series Smash (2012). She wrote episodes for Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013–2016), serving as story editor and executive story editor, and contributed to Master of None (2015) as a story writer and co-producer. She wrote the episode "Protect Ya Neck" of Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2021). She received a Writers Guild of America nomination for Comedy Series for Master of None.
Sundaram has also acted, including roles in Master of None and the film Good Fortune (2025). She was named after her great-grandmother Muthulakshmi Reddy.
