Biography
Larry the Cable Guy, born Daniel Lawrence Whitney on 17 February 1963 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, is an American stand-up comedian and actor. He is best known for providing the voice of Mater in the Pixar films Cars (2006), Cars 2 (2011) and Cars 3 (2017).
He gained prominence as a member of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Bill Engvall, Ron White and Jeff Foxworthy, and starred in the related films and the television series Blue Collar TV. His other film roles include Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2006), Delta Farce (2007) and Witless Protection (2008). His catchphrase "Git-R-Done!" is also the title of one of his books.
Whitney has released several comedy albums and starred in the History Channel series Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy.
