Biography
Larry Van Daele, also credited as Lawrence J. Van Daele, is an American wildlife biologist. He worked for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game for 34 years, retiring in 2015, with a focus on brown bear research and management, particularly Kodiak brown bears. He holds a PhD in natural resources from the University of Idaho.
Van Daele has appeared in several documentaries and films, including as Self - Bear Biologist in Grizzly Man (2005). Other credits include Wild Ambassadors from Kodiak to Sweden (2012), Guide to Brown Bear Country (2003) and The Harriman Alaska Expedition Retraced (2003).
