Biography
Lars Passgård (14 February 1941 – 16 March 2003) was a Swedish actor and theatre director. He trained at the Malmö City Theatre drama school and made his screen debut in 1961 as Minus in Ingmar Bergman's Through a Glass Darkly.
He appeared in around 38 films and television productions between 1961 and 2002. Notable film roles include Robban in Bo Widerberg's Barnvagnen (1963), an uncredited Swedish man in The Prize (1963), and Desperado in Yngve Gamlin's Jakten (The Chasers, 1965), which won the Silver Bear Extraordinary Jury Prize at the 16th Berlin International Film Festival. He also worked extensively in Swedish theatre, including at the Malmö City Theatre, Stockholm City Theatre and the Royal Dramatic Theatre, and served as drama director at Malmö City Theatre from 1986 to 1989.
