Biography

László Rajk (1949–2019) was a Hungarian architect, production designer and activist. He trained as an architect and designed the permanent Hungarian exhibition at the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum before entering film work.

Rajk’s film credits include production design on Son of Saul (2015), Sunset (2018), The Turin Horse (2011) and The Man from London (2008), all directed by László Nemes or Béla Tarr. He also worked as art director or production designer on The Martian (2015), Red Heat (1988) and When Trumpets Fade (1998), collaborating with directors including Ridley Scott, Costa-Gavras and Miklós Jancsó.
