Biography
Laura Benson is a British actress based in Paris. She has been resident in France since 1981 and trained at the École des comédiens de Nanterre-Amandiers under Patrice Chéreau and Pierre Romans.
She made her stage and screen debuts in 1986, appearing in Chéreau's productions of Platonov and Hôtel de France. Her early film roles include parts in Jacques Doillon's L'Amoureuse (1987) and Stephen Frears's Dangerous Liaisons (1988). She later worked with Alain Resnais on I Want to Go Home (1989) and Robert Altman on Prêt-à-Porter (1994).
Benson received a Molière nomination in the revelation category for her performance in the play George, which she co-wrote and produced. Her later screen credits include the lead role in Touch Me Not (2018) and appearances in Spencer (2021) and the series Marie Antoinette (2022).
