Biography
Laura Gemser is an actress and costume designer. Born on 5 October 1950 in Surabaya, Indonesia, she moved with her family to the Netherlands in 1955 and later studied fashion design. She began her film career in Italy in the mid-1970s, appearing in a series of exploitation films.
She is best known for starring as Emanuelle in several Black Emanuelle films directed by Joe D'Amato, including Black Emanuelle (1975), Emanuelle in America (1977) and Emanuelle Around the World (1977). In the 1990s she worked as a costume designer on films including Troll 2 (1990), The Crawlers (1990) and Quest for the Mighty Sword (1990).
