Biography
Laura Wade is an English playwright and screenwriter. Born on 16 October 1977 in Bedford, Bedfordshire, she studied drama at the University of Bristol and was a member of the Royal Court Theatre Young Writers' Programme.
She is known for her stage plays including Posh (2009), which she adapted for the 2014 film The Riot Club, and Home, I'm Darling (2018). Wade wrote episodes of and served as executive producer on the Disney+ series Rivals (2024–), an adaptation of Jilly Cooper's novel.
Her other work includes adaptations such as The Watsons (2018) and The Constant Wife (2025). She has received awards including the Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright (2005).
