Biography

Laurent Barès is a French cinematographer. He trained at the École Louis Lumière from 1986 to 1988 and began working as a camera assistant before becoming a director of photography in 1993. His first feature credit came in 1996.

Barès has shot numerous feature films, including the horror titles Inside (2007), Frontier(s) (2007) and The Divide (2012), and action films such as Hitman (2007) and Overdrive (2017). His television work includes episodes of Crossing Lines (2013–2014), on which he also directed, Gangs of London (2020–2022) and Criminal Record (2024). He has also photographed more than 500 commercials.
