Biography
Laurie David (born Laurie Ellen Lennard) is an American film producer and environmental activist. She began her career in New York as a talent coordinator for Late Night with David Letterman and later ran a management company representing comedians and comedy writers. She produced comedy specials for HBO, Showtime, MTV and Fox Television, and served as vice president of comedy development for a division of Fox Broadcasting.
David produced the Academy Award-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth (2006). She has executive produced or produced other environmental and social-issue films including An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power (2017), The Social Dilemma (2020) and Fed Up (2014). She is a trustee of the Natural Resources Defense Council and has written on environmental topics.
