Biography
Lee Holdridge is an American composer and orchestrator. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he studied the violin in Costa Rica and composition in Boston with Henry Lasker before continuing his training in New York. He later moved to Los Angeles, where he arranged music for Neil Diamond and collaborated with him on the score for Jonathan Livingston Seagull (1973).
Holdridge has composed for numerous films, including The Beastmaster (1982), Mr. Mom (1983), Splash (1984) and Big Business (1988). His television work includes the main title theme (with Al Jarreau) for the series Moonlighting (1985–1989) and music for Beauty and the Beast (1987–1990). He has received Emmy Awards for his television scores and a Grammy Award for the Jonathan Livingston Seagull soundtrack.
