Biography
Leigh Chapman was an American actress and screenwriter. Born Rosa Lee Chapman on 29 March 1939 in Kannapolis, North Carolina, she graduated from Winthrop College and moved to Los Angeles in the early 1960s. She began her career as an actress with guest roles in series including The Man from U.N.C.L.E., where she played Napoleon Solo's secretary, and later transitioned to writing.
Chapman wrote episodes of television series including Mission: Impossible (1966), The Wild Wild West, My Favorite Martian and The Mod Squad. Her feature credits include the screenplay for Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry (1974), the treatment for Truck Turner (1974), and screenplays for Steel (1979) and The Octagon (1980). She also contributed to Walker, Texas Ranger (1993); due to a creative dispute those credits were given under the name Louise McCarn, her mother's. Chapman died on 4 November 2014 in West Hollywood, California.
