Biography
Leigh Janiak is an American film and television director, screenwriter and producer. She was born on 1 February 1980 in Ohio and studied at New York University and the University of Chicago.
Janiak made her feature directorial debut with the horror film Honeymoon (2014), which she also wrote. She is best known for directing and co-writing the Fear Street trilogy (Fear Street: 1994, Fear Street: 1978 and Fear Street: 1666, all 2021). Her television directing credits include episodes of Scream (2015–2016), Outcast (2016), Panic (2021) and The Staircase (2022). She was married to filmmaker Ross Duffer from 2015 until their separation in 2024.
