Biography
Leigh Snowden was an American actress in film, television and stage. Born Martha Lee Estes in Memphis, Tennessee, she worked as a model and in small television parts after moving to Los Angeles.
She gained notice after a walk-on appearance on The Jack Benny Program in 1954 led to a contract with Universal Pictures. Her film roles included parts in Kiss Me Deadly (1955), All That Heaven Allows (1955) as Jo-Ann Grisby, The Creature Walks Among Us (1956) and The Comancheros (1961).
In 1956 she married accordionist Dick Contino; the couple had three children in addition to two from her first marriage. Snowden largely retired from acting after the marriage but appeared on stage in 1971. She died of cancer in 1982.
