Biography

Leila Hoffman (née Rothstein) is an English actress, comedian and writer. She was born on 11 June 1934 in Hackney, London.

She is known for her role as Dot Treacher in the BBC Three sitcom How Not to Live Your Life (2008–2011). Other television credits include Mrs Rossiter in Doctor Who (2011), Olive Mollinson in Bad Education (2012–2024), and Nana/Isadora in Flowers (2016–2018). Film appearances include Lady 2 in The Witches (1990) and an uncredited role in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001).

Hoffman has been married to Alfred Hoffman since 1960.
