Biography

Leo Pescarolo, also credited as Leonardo Pescarolo, was an Italian film producer. Born in Genoa in 1935, he began his career in the late 1950s as an assistant director before moving into production.

He produced or co-produced numerous films, including works by Liliana Cavani, Giuliano Montaldo and Francesca Archibugi, as well as Giordano Bruno (1973), What Have You Done to Solange? (1972), Autopsy (1975), The Great Pumpkin (1993), The Truce (1997), Dancer in the Dark (2000) and The Luzhin Defence (2000). He received Nastro d'Argento awards for best producer for The Great Pumpkin and The Truce.

Pescarolo died in Rabat, Morocco, on 24 May 2006.
