Biography
Leonard Praskins (1896–1968) was a British screenwriter who worked primarily in Hollywood. Born in Meltham, Yorkshire, England, he began his career writing for stage and film in the late 1920s.
He received a writing credit on the MGM film The Champ (1931), directed by King Vidor. Other notable screen credits include Call of the Wild (1935), Treasure Island (1934), Bird of Paradise (1932) and Three Violent People (1956). He also contributed to numerous television series in the 1950s and 1960s, including episodes of Wagon Train and Maverick.
Praskins wrote the play The Charlatan, which was produced on Broadway in 1922 and adapted as a film in 1929.
