Biography
Lesley Paterson is a Scottish screenwriter and triathlete. Born in Stirling, she co-wrote the screenplay for the 2022 Netflix film All Quiet on the Western Front with Ian Stokell, based on the novel by Erich Maria Remarque. They acquired the film rights in 2006, and the project was eventually directed by Edward Berger as a German-language production.
The film received widespread acclaim and won the BAFTA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Paterson, Stokell and Berger. Paterson is also credited as an executive producer. She has competed successfully in off-road triathlon, winning the XTERRA Triathlon World Championship in 2011, 2012 and 2018, as well as the World Triathlon Cross Championship in 2012 and 2018.
