Biography
Leueen MacGrath (3 July 1914 – 27 March 1992) was an English actress and playwright. A graduate of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, she began her screen career with a role in the 1936 film Whom the Gods Love and appeared as Clara Eynsford-Hill in Pygmalion (1938).
MacGrath made her Broadway debut in Edward, My Son (1948) and reprised the role in the 1949 film adaptation. She collaborated with playwright George S. Kaufman, her husband from 1949 to 1957, on several stage works, including the book for the musical Silk Stockings (1955). She appeared in further Broadway and London productions and on American television anthology series.
