Biography
Lewis Lord Russell, also credited as Lewis L. Russell and born George Lewis Lord, was an American actor. He appeared in vaudeville, Broadway productions and Hollywood films from the mid-1930s to the mid-1950s.
Russell was born on 10 September 1889 in Farmington, Illinois. He played the role of Charles St. James, father of Jane Wyman's character, in the Academy Award-winning film The Lost Weekend (1945). He also appeared as the Governor in the Marx Brothers comedy A Night in Casablanca (1946) and as W.T. Wayne in an episode of the television series Adventures of Superman (1953). On stage he performed in the 1943 Broadway revival of The Corn Is Green.
