Biography
Lia Beldam was a Swiss model and actress. Born Alma Cornelia Tanner on 17 June 1944 in Uster, near Zürich, she worked as a photographic and catwalk model in London after training as a secretary and moving to the UK.
She is known for her role as the Young Woman in Bath (Lorraine Massey) in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining (1980). Cast after a portfolio including nude photographs led directors to assign her to the Room 237 scene rather than an extra part in the ballroom, she filmed her sequences over one week. She had previously appeared in minor extra roles without dialogue in other films.
