Biography
Lila Cazès was an Argentine producer and writer. She co-founded the Paris-based production and distribution company Initial Groupe with her then husband Jean Cazès in 1987. The company produced features including La Thune (1991) and Somebody to Love (1994), before becoming Lumière in 1993.
Cazès produced Leaving Las Vegas (1995), directed by Mike Figgis and starring Nicolas Cage and Elisabeth Shue. The film received four Academy Award nominations and won Best Actor for Cage; Cazès received a Producers Guild of America nomination. She also served as executive producer on Fresh (1994) and produced Touch (1997).
Later credits include The Magic of Marciano (2000) and Asleep in the Sun (2010). Cazès died on 4 December 2017 in Buenos Aires, aged 72.
