Biography
Linda Bloodworth-Thomason is an American writer, producer and director. Born Linda Joyce Bloodworth on 15 April 1947 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, she obtained a B.A. in English from the University of Missouri. She began her television career as a freelance writer, contributing episodes to MASH* (1972) among other series.
She created the CBS sitcoms Designing Women (1986) and Evening Shade (1990), and wrote extensively for both. In 1983 she married producer Harry Thomason; the couple formed Mozark Productions the same year. She later directed the documentary Bridegroom (2013). In 1994 she received the Women in Film Lucy Award.
