Biography
Linden Travers (born Florence Lindon-Travers) was a British actress. She made her first stage appearance at the Newcastle Playhouse in 1933 and her West End debut the following year in Ivor Novello's Murder in Mayfair. Her first film was Children of the Fog (1935).
She appeared in supporting roles in several British films of the 1930s and 1940s, including Carol Reed's Bank Holiday (1938) and The Stars Look Down (1940). One of her best-known performances was as 'Mrs.' Margaret Todhunter in Alfred Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes (1938). She played the title role in the 1948 film No Orchids for Miss Blandish, which she had also performed on stage in 1942. Other credits include Quartet (1948) and The Bad Lord Byron (1949). She was the elder sister of actor Bill Travers.
Travers retired from films after her second marriage in 1948, though she made occasional television appearances. She later worked as a painter and qualified as a hypnotist and psychotherapist.
