Biography
Lisa Joyce is an American actress. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on 31 December 1984 and trained at the Theatre School at DePaul University.
She has an extensive stage career, with a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination for her performance in Adam Rapp's Red Light Winter at Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Her Broadway and West End debut came in La Bête, and she toured nationally in Doubt alongside Cherry Jones. Off-Broadway credits include Love, Loss and What I Wore and The Ugly One (Drama Desk Award nomination). She won a Helen Hayes Award for her role in Blackbird at the Studio Theater in Washington, D.C.
On screen, Joyce is best known for playing Frieda in the HBO series Insecure (2016–2021). Other television credits include Boardwalk Empire, The Following, The Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Film roles include Ricki and the Flash (2015) and A Master Builder (2013).
