Biography

Lloyd Avery II was an American actor born in Los Angeles. He is known for his role as Knucklehead #2 in John Singleton's Boyz n the Hood (1991), in which his character kills Ricky Baker and is later killed in retaliation.

Avery appeared in other films including Poetic Justice (1993) as Thug #1, Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996) as Guy in Back Seat (uncredited), and Lockdown (2000) as Nate. He also had a guest role as Red in an episode of Doogie Howser, M.D. (1992). He became acquainted with Singleton while the director was a student at USC. Avery's acting career spanned from 1990 to 2001. He was convicted of double homicide in 2000 and sentenced to life imprisonment. He was murdered by his cellmate at Pelican Bay State Prison in 2005.
