Biography
Lorenzo Baraldi, also credited as Gianlorenzo Baraldi, is an Italian production designer, art director and scenographer. Born on 30 October 1940 in Parma, he studied set design at the Istituto d'Arte Paolo Toschi in his home city and at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan.
He began working in film in the late 1960s, initially as a set decorator, and went on to design for numerous Italian productions. Baraldi frequently collaborated with directors Mario Monicelli and Dino Risi, and his credits include My Friends (1975), An Average Little Man (1977), The Marquis of Grillo (1981) and The Postman (1994). He has also worked on international projects and taught set decoration at several Italian institutions.
